Scott James, Executive Chef

Scott James, Executive Chef at the restaurant 115 Midtowne in the North Hills area of Raleigh, North Carolina, learned his skills through on-the-job experience beginning as a dishwasher at the age of 15.  In 2004, Raleigh’s Metro Magazine named Scott as Best New Chef. His love of food, and especially unique food preparation, led him to a career he has never left. Scott served as Sous Chef when 115 Midtowne opened in 2005 and then held several positions at other area restaurants before re-joining 115 Midtowne.

As Executive Chef, Scott is instrumental in menu development, quality control, and food preparation, as well as managing a staff of ten chefs. He is also responsible for front-line customer relations and satisfaction. Scott’s menu is a trendy mixture of contemporary metropolitan food which reflects his attitude and commitment to unique and sophisticated, high quality and eye-appealing dishes.

The son of a United States Air Force officer, Scott was born in the United Kingdom and spent his early years moving from base to base. He and his wife, Karla, and son, Connor, now live in Cary, North Carolina.
